H.D. Carrigan

Artist: H.D. Carrigan?
Dimensions: 20” x 16”
Medium: Oil on board?
Dated: February 1949
Subject: A bustling alleyway or common area, and in the background is the Hotel MacDonald in Edmonton

This is another artwork I found at a thrift store last month. I love it, but I can’t find any information about the artist, and I’m not sure I even have the name correct. It looks like H.D. Carrigan, but the signature on the front and the writing on the back are a little difficult to decipher.

The subject is a street scene of an active alleyway or common area, and in the background is the Hotel MacDonald in Edmonton. I love the popcorn vendor!
