Margaret Thomson Tweedale

Artist: possibly Margaret Thomson Tweedale? (1884-1979)
Dimensions: 20” x 16”
Medium: Appears to be oil on board

I found this at a thrift store, and it’s signed Margaret Thomson. Could it be by famous artist Tom Thomson’s sister Margaret?

Margaret Thomson was the ninth of ten children born to John and Margaret Thomson. She trained and worked as a teacher for 15 years before marrying William Tweedale. Her brother Tom’s tragic death shook the whole family, and she remained fiercely protective of her brother’s reputation. The shared pain of his death brought his siblings closer, and his brother George started traditional spring and fall painting expeditions which Margaret joined in on. Landscape was her preferred subject matter, and she created a small body of charming works, but she was reluctant to promote or sell them.
